Consumers Hit With Hidden Credit Card Fee When Traveling Abroad
Years ago, when traveling abroad, traveler’s checks would be the preferred method for making purchases. Today, credit cards have all but replaced traveler’s checks. Plastic is now widely accepted overseas, and may be used at ATMs all over the world to dispense cash in the currency of whatever country you may be visiting. When using your credit card for this purpose, however, you should be alerted that some banks are assessing a hidden charge of as much as 3% above the current rate of currency conversion.
If you used your credit card overseas and were charged a currency conversion fee, or any other hidden fees, please contact us to discuss your legal options.
ok heres the deal 2 years ago thanks to a mail check scam we lost our banking priviledges. now we decide on only1 prepaid credit card. huge joke. my wife has her check direct deposited. great easier and safer. ha ha. as of right now she has 1071.00 pending. on new years eve. we have 3 dollars available and are being told sorry over and over againby customer service apparently a service glitch in the direct deposit department has kept us from our money. and on top of that i was told that if said glitch is not repaired by clock out time we will be unable to to have our funds until monday. so lets see here its december 31,2009. we have 3.25 available and no other cash.
oh and bills are now being paid late and we have a 12 year old boy with extremely minimal groceries. to get us to monday january 4,2010.
ya we are thrilled. but hey they said they were sorry and also there was nothing they could do to help. hmmm but wait if my card was stolen dont they put all said stolen funds back immidietly then they investigate.
