Slim Xtreme Diet Supplement Falsely Marketed As “100% Natural”

One of the largest consumer markets in the United States involves diet aids and supplements as Americans faced with long hours at work and the demands of family find it increasingly difficult to lose weight. At the same time, most consumers are wary of dangerous and unnatural weight loss products that might be harmful, and as a result, many marketers of weight loss products represent that their products are safe and natural. Unfortunately, not all such representations are true. Indeed, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is now warning consumers not to buy or use “Slim Xtreme Herbal Slimming Capsule.”   This product, distributed by Globe All Wellness, is widely sold on the Internet and touted as “100% natural.”  However according to the FDA, laboratory tests reveal that “Slim Xtreme Herbal Slimming Capsule” contains sibutramine, which is a controlled substance that was actually restricted from sale in the U.S. owing to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes

If you or someone you know has purchased a Slim Xtreme product, please contact us to discuss your legal options.

    Hello,
In March 2009, my wife took Slim Xtreme Herbal slimming capsule. She started complaining soon after about stiffness in her neck and shoulders. She stopped taking the pill regularly after a few weeks. We were married in late April 2009. She occasionally still took the supplement, but as soon as the pain started again, she stopped. On May 27th 2009, while driving, she experienced a major muscular event in her right shoulder and neck that debilitated her for several days. She stopped taking the pill completely in the summer of 2009. Then, in September 2009, she started having major debilitating headaches and muscle aches in her shoulder and head. She had many emergency room visits and many hospital stays over the course of the fall of 2009. She saw several neurologists, chiropractors, and many many doctors. None could come up with a diagnosis. Over the course of 2010, she had what she referred to as flare ups many times, and had weeks of pain that completely negated her quality of life and affected her ability to work and attend school. We have spent thousands of dollars and she has had her life greatly negatively impacted because of her pain. In early 2011, she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and is currently being tested for Lupus. She has had major episodes of depression and anxiety over the course of this pain that originated in 2009. She is currently on her 3rd type of treatment for fibromyalgia this year and still suffers from severe pain that puts her on bed rest for about a week at a time once every other month. This all started with the Slim xtreme supplement she tried with a group of friends, trying to drop some weigh before her wedding. In discussion today, June 1st 2011, we put it together that all these problems started about the time she took this pill. She never had anything remotely like this before this product was tried, which she was assured was FDA approved. On a whim, we googled tonight Slim Xtreme and found that it was recalled and there was sibutramine in the pill, which apparently affects the central nervous system, serotonin intake, and could have played a role in a nightmare we have been living since just a month after our wedding. Please advise on what course of action we should take to pursue this legally and to help keep this from happening to anyone else.
    Thank you,
