Have You Been Deceived Into Buying HCG Diet Pills?

One of the most difficult issues consumers trying to losing weight face is purchasing a diet product that works. Unfortunately, many unscrupulous marketers deceive consumers into buying unproven or outright worthless products based on bogus weight loss claims. One of the more egregious scams that have come to light recently concerns HCG.  In fact, the FDA sent letters to several HCG diet-product companies, warning them that HCG weight-loss drugs have not been approved by FDA, and that the claim that HCG can help in weight loss is unsupported.

HCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, is a hormone produced by the human placenta during pregnancy. HCG is approved by FDA as a prescription drug for the treatment of female infertility, and other medical conditions. However, it is not approved for weight loss. Nonetheless, may HCG marketers claim that HCG can “reset your metabolism,” change “abnormal eating patterns,” and cause one to two pounds of weight loss per day. Typically, these products come with a very low calorie diet, and any weight loss is attributable to the diet, not HCG.

i purchased the hcg diet plan from http://www.officialhcgdietplan.com/ after i purchased it, i started following the diet to the letter. i was on the diet for 10 days. and had lost 10 pounds. This website (and all others i saw) does not state anything about having antidepressent or about not drinking alcohol while taking this. The only thing that i found was on another blog that said they dont recommend it due to high caloric content & that it may lead to stalling & also said that hcg suppresses urges to drink. I drank between 3-5 shots of vodka & woke up in the ICU. i was horriefied. I was accused of trying to kill myself, as they found traces of antidepressents in my blood & the alcohol content was 0.27. I still have the bottles & can send them to get tested to confirm they do indeed have antidepressents in them, but havent done so. I can get back the $129 i paid,as they have a moneyback guarantee. but am not sure that is the best thing to do. This company is misleading people to believe they are a BBB, they are not. They have a FDA approved logo, but they are selling it as weight loss. They also do not have the product described correctly. telling people that it can be taken for 15 days, when it is 23. and 40 days, when the studies show max of 35. not sure what i should do, i now have well over $15K in doctor bills due to this.

I purchased the HCG diet, because my doctor recommended it to me. I followed all the instructions to the letter. I didnt cheat at all. I ws on the diet for 10 days. I had researched the diet & found that there was no restrictions to drinking alcohol, it just says it is not recommended due to high calorie count of mixed drinks. So i drank a triple shot of vodka, which is not an abnormal amount of vodka for me to drink, its not even a long island ice tea ( there are 5 shots in that). I woke up the next day in the ICU strapped to the bed with tubes down my nose & throat. The 3 shots of vodka had turned to a 0.27 blood alcohol level, possibly due to the low caloric intake. But the reason i was tied to the bed was that they found trace amounts of anti depressants in my blood, and thought i had tried to kill myself. I am a naturalist. I do not like to take prescription drugs if i do not have to. The only thing i was taking was the HCG diet, a one a day vitamin, and green tea extract, which is what the hcg diet recommends. None of these products have warning about drinkiing while taking the product & none of these products say they contain anti-depressants either. I came out of this ordeal with no major side effects, only a abnormally high resting heartrate from now on. So I am lucky. but i also have the hospital bills from this about $8K….. any ideas on what to do besides get the $129 back for the HCG diet???

I think this diet is dangerous and don’t understand how people would be willing to adhere to its strict caloric requirements when you can just as easily eat healthy and exercsise to loose weight.
